Who couldn’t fall in love with the newest Pantone Color of the Year 2022?

Very Peri, Pantone’s elegant shade of periwinkle, was chosen by the color specialists to represent 2022. It’s a pop of radiance and sunshine in a world full of uncertainty.

“The image we selected to be our hero image for Pantone Color of the Year 2022 is one that is more abstract and futuristic,” said Pantone VP Laurie Pressman.

“This was intentional as there are a lot of unknowns that are happening, and the abstractness part of where we are right now,” she said. “As we examine the unknown and begin to work our way out of the unease, reimagining and rewriting our lives, we are not entirely sure yet where we are headed.”

Pressman said Very Peri is a symbol for the transition the world is going through, in part due to the pandemic. The “enthusiastic blue hue” is the perfect balance between warm and cool, she added. She called it a “friendly and happy shade.”

Invite Very Peri to your wedding

Pantone’s Very Peri is sure to make plenty of appearances at weddings and all types of parties throughout the year. Pressman told Totally Wedding Koozies that periwinkle is very versatile and not necessarily defined by seasons.

“Instead it might alter the surrounding palettes to support the mood and feeling,” she said.

Accent colors for the newest Pantone Color of the Year 2022

Wedding planners who are in awe of Very Peri can browse Pantone’s Palette Exploration for inspiring accent colors. They showcase four palettes of matching colors: Balancing Act, Wellspring, The Star of the Show and Amusements.

Although Pressman believes Very Peri can be used anytime, she gave this suggestion for pairing colors with it per season:

“I think Amusements and Wellspring may play better in warmer weather, whereas The Star of the Show and Balancing Act could work all year round,” Pressman noted.
