Pantone’s Color of the Year 2019 announcement has thousands of couples planning a coral color wedding.

“Living Coral” is sure to take the spotlight next year in bridesmaids’ dresses, flowers, custom wedding favors and party supplies.

But what other colors can be paired with coral to complete your wedding theme? Quite a few, actually. Unlike Bridezillas, coral is an easy color to work with.

Let’s take a closer look at this perky color before I start throwing compatible tones your way.

What color is Living Coral?

The Pantone Color Institute describes Living Coral as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” That’s a mouthful!

The paint experts at Sherwin Williams say coral is part of the red color spectrum. In nature, coral ranges from bright pinks to deep reddish-orange in the depths of the ocean. That’s why nautical-themed weddings are often infused with shades of coral and blue.

Coral is also considered a positive “chi” color when decorating because it is energizing and soothing. That would be the aura I’d want to capture on my wedding day!

Coral color wedding accents

I tapped our experts at Totally Wedding Koozies to help you choose the best accents for your coral color wedding. Our team based their choices on contrast, color harmony and experience. I’ve highlighted their recommendations in our most popular wedding favors and party supplies:

Coral, Navy Blue, Placid Blue

Coral Wedding Beer Cooler Favors

These colors offer the most contrast and the richest tones of all three of our recommendations. A white imprint will boldly announce your name and wedding date on wedding can coolers, personalized napkins and other wedding essentials. This color combination is especially appropriate for elegant indoor wedding receptions and beach themes.

Coral, Teal, Robins’ Egg

Coral and Teal Wedding Favors

This is your trio if you’re looking for a fun, warm weather color splash! Coral, teal and robins’ egg are all excellent color choices for decorations and favors such as custom wedding can coolers. Add a simple, white imprint for a clean look. These colors have been soulmates for a few years now but they are timeless when showcased in bouquets and dinner settings.

Coral, Yellow, Tangerine

These three colors scream high energy and sunshine when meshed for your wedding celebration. Foil printing on personalized wedding napkins give coral, yellow and tangerine the formal look you want. Mouths will water when these beauties grace your wedding cake. Of course, they are perfect for a gorgeous summer wedding but don’t be afraid to invite them during the winter months!

Living Coral has a long list of allies

Coral Wedding

Many other colors can be paired with coral, too. My personal coral color accent is Ultra Violet, which was Pantone’s Color of the Year 2018. Other sidekicks for coral are pink and raspberry; teal and light grey; evergreen; and gold. Coral also is very compatible with white, ivory and other neutral tones.

Take your time when choosing colors for your wedding. Coral is a beautiful shade but don’t select it because Pantone did. Think about all the places you’ll want to infuse your wedding colors, examine your favorites side by side, and don’t be afraid to ask close friends or our experts at Totally Wedding Koozies for input.

Happy wedding planning!
