A charitable organization called Mary’s Meals has caught the attention of Totally Promotional and the world. Its founder was recently recognized as a Top 10 CNN Hero.
Mary’s Meals roots and accomplishments
Mary’s Meals was started under a different name in 2002 by a Scottish man named Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow. The organization currently feeds over 1.2 million children a day in several impoverished countries. The children impacted by this charity are fed in their local schools. This allows them to receive an education and receive one meal each day. The food given to these children is always produced and prepared in the local area, so it also benefits area farmers.
Magnus still runs the organization in Dalmally, Scotland, in a small shack formerly owned by his father. The headquarters remains in that shed to remind Magnus what Mary’s Meals is all about.
Totally Promotional’s involvement in Mary’s Meals
Inspired by the idea and Mary’s Meals mission, Totally Promotional decided to join the effort. For the next year we will donate funds to provide meals at a school in Malawi, Africa, that serves about 1,000 students.
Learning about Mary’s Meals and the plight of so many children reminds us how blessed we are. We fully support Mary’s Meals efforts and want to help in any way we can.
