Looking for an easy Thanksgiving craft for kids?

I’ve got one that isn’t messy and encourages healthy eating: Turkey Treat Cups! These can be made in about 30 minutes and serve as an adorable decoration on your Thanksgiving table.

Turkey Treat Cups are an appropriate Thanksgiving craft for kids in daycare, preschool and elementary classes, as well as 4-H clubs, Brownies and Cub Scouts. The cost for supplies is minimal.

Thanksgiving Craft Step by Step Guide

Cut out the face, nose, feet and feathers. An adult or older child may want to draw these on the materials in advance. To achieve the look of real feathers, randomly cut small triangular pieces along the sides.

Glue the pieces onto the cups. Let the glue dry for at least two hours before filling the cups.

Thanksgiving Day debut

Thanksgiving Craft for Kids

On Thanksgiving Day, let the little ones fill their Turkey Treat Cups with healthy foods such as grapes, apple slices, cheese cubes, pretzels and veggies. Kids are much more likely to eat food they’ve chosen, especially on holidays when they’re faced with unfamiliar dishes.

One more tip: Let children use toothpicks as utensils. It’s just more fun that way.
