Totally Promotional hit the jackpot this month with the addition of four very talented design externs from the prestigious School of Advertising Art in Kettering, Ohio.
Welcome Rachel Berning, Jenny Osterholt, Brook Albers and Libby Brinkman!
Each of these young ladies will graduate in June with an associate degree in applied business in advertising art. Totally Promotional couldn’t be prouder of their educational achievements and are very happy to have them aboard!
The newest externs at Totally Promotional
Rachel Berning
Rachel is an adventurer at heart with a passion for exploring new places. As a kid, she was charmed by fine art and fell in love with digital creation during a graphic design class in high school, The rest, as they say, is history.
At Totally Promotional, Rachel creates unique designs for weddings, designs responsive web pages and more. She welcomes the challenge of developing websites from scratch so customers can easily find what they’re looking for.
Rachel grew up in Maria Stein, Ohio, a tiny farming town without a single stop light — a concept that amazed her college friends. She can’t wait to move back home so she can spend her free time basking in the summer sun and dog-sitting for friends.
Jenny Osterholt
Jenny loves the outdoors but also confesses to a mild Netflix addiction. It certainly isn’t stifling her creative abilities; she is experienced in print, hand lettering, video, animation, graphics and web design. She also dabbles in the latest designs on Pinterest and Dribbble.
Jenny came to Totally Promotional to broaden her experience and hasn’t been disappointed. “Design is involved in so many things that you never know what you could end up working on,” she said.
Jenny is the second oldest of five siblings and on weekends helps out on her family’s chicken farm. She lives in St. Henry, Ohio, another small Midwest town where everyone knows everyone. She explained how shopping for a loaf of bread can take an hour because she always runs into someone she knows.
Brook Albers
Brook is one of the Top 10 students in SAA’s Class of 2017! Wow!
Brook spent her childhood surrounded by paint sets and scrapbooking materials. A few years ago, she realized her thirst for art could translate into a career in graphic design. “It was an adjustment at first, going from fine art to digital, but it’s amazing how something that has been a passion of mine since I was little, is now my career.”
The atmosphere at Totally Promotional is exactly what Brook was hoping to find. The bonus is working with helpful coworkers who appreciate the design world as much as she does. She loves how the brainstorming process leads to a meaningful design that can influence someone’s life.
Brook also hails from Maria Stein, Ohio. She believes that growing up in the close-knit community and attending Marion Local High School helped her become the person she is today.
Libby Brinkman
Libby will always be a kid at heart with her non-stop desire to learn new things. Her creative drive and bold spirit are a perfect fit at Totally Promotional.
Libby studied graphic design in high school and realized it was the career for her. But she quickly learned that creating a unique design isn’t an accomplishment if your client isn’t satisfied. “Just seeing someone happy about something I made for them is what gives me passion to continue doing it,” she said. In her spare time, she creates wedding invitations for couples.
Libby jokes that her hometown of New Knoxville, Ohio, is “in the middle of nowhere.” But she’s quick to add that you won’t find friendlier people anywhere. Finding the job of her dreams at Totally Promotional is like icing on the cake for Libby. She has everything else she needs in life — family, friends and a loving dog.
