For parties, I rely on recipes I can whip up ahead of time. Hosts shouldn’t be chained to the kitchen when their guests arrive. Patriotic Parfaits can be prepared a day in advance.
I suggest using clear cups or glasses for this dessert so guests can ooh and ahh over the colors! Make this a patriotic favor your guests can take home by using customized frosted cups. (Totally Promotional also has some adorable patriotic sunglasses, coasters and can coolers your guests will love!)
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2 cups strawberries, cut into 1-inch slices
- 3 8-oz. bowls of Cool Whip
- 10 oz. angel food cake, cut or torn into 1-inch pieces
Start by placing a single layer of angel food cake pieces at the bottom of 8 individual 16-oz. frosted cups or Mason jars. Top with a single layer of strawberries, a layer of blueberries and 2 tablespoons of Cool Whip. Repeat. Top with a few blueberries and strawberry pieces. Chill until ready to serve.
The best summer party ideas begin with a cool, refreshing drink. Why not kick it up a notch and make it a visual treat? Americana Punch is a science experiment that will fascinate kids and adults! The varying amounts of sugar in each ingredient keep the colors from mixing. In just a few minutes you’ll have an amazing red, white and blue beverage!
Our staff made this drink in our unbreakable frosted cups with our popular Stars and Stripes design. The colors stood out perfectly!
- Cranberry Juice Cocktail
- Cool Blue G2 Gatorade
- Strawberry Clear American Zero
- Clear or translucent 16 oz. cups
Note: We used Lower Sugar Glacier Freeze Gatorade with a few drops of blue food coloring to get a deeper hue.
Pour an inch of cranberry juice into the cups. Add ice to the top. Very slowly pour the Gatorade into the cups until they are ⅔ full. Top off the mixture with the clear soda. Let it sit for 5 minutes so the three liquids fully separate.
