For parties, I rely on recipes I can whip up ahead of time. Hosts shouldn’t be chained to the kitchen when their guests arrive. Patriotic Parfaits can be prepared a day in advance.
I suggest using clear cups or glasses for this dessert so guests can ooh and ahh over the colors! Make this a patriotic favor your guests can take home by using customized frosted cups. Patriotic Parfait
Ingredients
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2 cups strawberries, cut into 1-inch slices
- 3 8-oz. bowls of Cool Whip
- 10 oz. angel food cake, cut or torn into 1-inch pieces
Directions
Start by placing a single layer of angel food cake pieces at the bottom of 8 individual 16-oz. frosted cups or Mason jars. Top with a single layer of strawberries, a layer of blueberries and 2 tablespoons of Cool Whip. Repeat. Top with a few blueberries and strawberry pieces. Chill until ready to serve.

Americana Punch
Ingredients
- Cranberry Juice Cocktail
- Cool Blue G2 Gatorade
- Strawberry Clear American Zero
- Clear or translucent 16 oz. cups
Note: We used Lower Sugar Glacier Freeze Gatorade with a few drops of blue food coloring to get a deeper hue.
Directions
Pour an inch of cranberry juice into the cups. Add ice to the top. Very slowly pour the Gatorade into the cups until they are ⅔ full. Top off the mixture with the clear soda. Let it sit for 5 minutes so the three liquids fully separate.
